The Role:
The Chemical Engineering co-op will work in the Wet Etch and Clean (WEC) New Product Development (NPD) group conducted under the direction of a more senior engineer. This group is focused on bringing new filtration and purification product designs to market. The co-op position primarily involves running experiments to identify cleaning processes that will meet design specifications of new products. In addition, this position may include research to gain fundamental understanding of specific cleaning mechanisms.


In this role you will:

• Conduct research under the direction of a more senior engineer to identify new/improved equipment as well as new/improved cleaning and packaging processes that will meet design specifications of new filter products.
• Communicate progress on a frequent basis including recommendations for process improvements.
• Develop critical thinking and problem solving associated with new or improved process design.
• Write standard operating procedures for new processes.
• Model separations and mass transfer processes.

• Detail-oriented, ability to take comprehensive notes and make observations.
• Good organizational and communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information both verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced working environment.
• Ability to work with intra and inter departmental functional areas is necessary.
• Desired Major: Chemical Engineer; must be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of May 2024 or later.

Throughout the cycle, co-op remains active and engaged in projects. Throughout the cycle, co-op is not afraid to ask questions or seek out connections and resources to complete assigned tasks. By the end of the cycle, co-op demonstrates the ability to plan for and execute tasks which are assigned to them in the required timeframe. By the end of the cycle, co-op has a working knowledge of Entegris systems and processes relevant to the projects they were assigned. By the end of the cycle, co-op has gained independence in lab and/or cleanroom activities. By the end of the cycle, co-op has achieved an understanding of the stages and workflow of new product development projects. By the end of the cycle, co-op has made a contribution with a positive lasting impact on Entegris.
