Change Management Leader for Change Management & Communications Team, Office of the CIO The Change Management Leader will spearhead the CMC work on a major IT initiative and will also serve as the senior change management expert on our team. S/he will oversee other change managers, lead the team\xe2\x80\x99s change management consulting work and will guide the maintenance of toolkits and other resources that help project managers and other change leaders across IT. As a senior change management leader assigned to a specific project, the Change Management Leader will spend 80% of his or her time on the following:

  • Support a Trane Technologies major IT initiative, which typically involves multiple lines of business and many functions within each business, affecting thousands of end users across North America. The CM Leader will
  • Focus on the people side of change, understanding the change impacts of new business processes, systems and technology
  • Work across a highly matrixed team of business leaders and IT professionals to provide guidance, develop strategies, schedule tactics and implement action plans to ensure success
  • Create and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage of the new tools while minimizing resistance and business disruption
  • Coach senior leaders and executives to help them fulfill the role of change sponsor,
  • Work to drive faster adoption, higher usage and better proficiency with the new tools
  • Increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI and the achievement of program goals
As the senior change management expert on the OCIO CMC team, the Change Management Leader will spend 20% of his or her time on the following:
  • Help interview and select change management contract team members
  • Oversee the work of other change management contractors to ensure adherence to best practices, client satisfaction and shared learning within our team
  • Approve timesheets weekly and ensure administrative tasks are up to date for contractors
  • Provide change management consulting to project managers, IT leaders and IT teams working on small to mid-size programs that lack a full-time CM resource
  • Help maintain toolkits and other resources that support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Apply change management processes and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by major IT initiatives
  • Design, develop, write and deliver program-related communications to all stakeholders
  • Identify key stakeholders, conduct impact analyses, and assess change readiness
  • Support training efforts by helping refine the training strategy, gather document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs
  • Assess change management effectiveness as the program evolves
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance
  • Consult and coach project teams and leaders
  • Create actionable deliverables for the communications plan and training plan
  • Support and engage senior leaders
  • Coordinate efforts with other specialists within the company and on adjacent teams and roles
  • Integrate change management activities into project plan
  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness
  • Help manage stakeholders
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
  • Oversee the work of contract change managers supporting IT initiatives
  • Help maintain toolkits and other change management resources
  • Provide consulting services as requested by other corporate IT project teams
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven success as a change manager for large-scale IT initiatives within a large corporation
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Strong team building and relationship building skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations

  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Change management certification or designation is a bonus
Base Salary for this position is $70,000 to $150,000.
