The Chief Financial Officer position is accountable for the financial, administrative, and risk management operations of the company. The ideal candidate has shown success in developing financial and operational strategy for a construction company.

Primary Responsibilities-

  • Prepares monthly and quarterly financials, including the WIP and COR, G&A, BS and IS schedules.
  • Prepares companywide annual budget and follows up with monthly forecasting.
  • Participates in developing and maintaining the relationship with our independent accounting firm. Full year Audit and 6-month Review. Responsible for all PBCs. Must have working knowledge of recent Revenue Recognition and Leasehold Accounting changes.
  • Company\xe2\x80\x99s liaison with the bank and surety, keeping open communication and providing quarterly covenant and financial performance information.
  • Work with our Controller to maintain the company\xe2\x80\x99s credit policies and procedures, as well as monitor our cash flow projections and collection success.
  • Oversight of project accounting to ensure accuracy of contract listing.
  • Monitors the capital expenditures.
  • Establishes and maintains systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.
  • Reviews the preparation of all payroll reporting (including tax returns) documents.
  • Responsible for coordination and preparation of information needed for workers compensation, union, and sales tax audits.
  • Special analysis and reporting as directed by the President.
The CFO performs duties in an independent manner with little to no supervision, exceeds heightened discretion given the sensitive nature of the CFO duties, and looks for assistance on non-routine events and issues. The CFO has the authority to make staff selection and development decisions for the department.

Skills Required-
  • 12+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a leadership role in accounting in the construction industry
  • Working knowledge of GL, AR, AP, payroll, income tax, banking, and bonding.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to present ideas and concepts equally to all levels of employees.
  • Top notch negotiating skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and work with a goal of precision.
  • Consistent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Very strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in finance or accounting required, Advanced degree or certification preferred.
