Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic financial team. The role involves preparing and filing accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, staying up-to-date on tax laws, and providing strategic tax planning advice. Key responsibilities include analyzing financial data, identifying tax-saving opportunities, ensuring compliance, and assisting clients during audits.

Responsibilities



Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements. Conduct detailed account reconciliations, including general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis to ensure data accuracy. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with precision, ensuring timely payments and collections. Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. Perform financial report writing and interpretation to facilitate informed decision-making by management. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting standards, securities law, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other applicable regulations. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to streamline financial operations. Conduct audits and internal controls assessments to uphold organizational integrity and mitigate risks. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to optimize cash flow management and financial planning. Assist with tax preparation and planning activities leveraging tax experience related to corporate accounting and estate law when applicable. Mentor junior staff members by providing guidance on technical accounting concepts, GAAP standards, and best practices in public accounting environments. Collaborate across departments to improve processes related to governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, or private equity transactions as needed.

Qualifications



Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required; additional credentials such as CMA or CFA are a plus. Proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance with a focus on financial statement preparation and analysis. Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance requirements, securities law, and regulatory frameworks relevant to various industries. Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential. Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting areas such as accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management. Experience with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is highly desirable. Solid understanding of financial concepts such as cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliation, and financial management strategies. Excellent analytical skills combined with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Strong communication skills for preparing comprehensive financial reports and explaining findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Ability to mentor team members effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $80,348.25 - $96,763.48 per year
