This position is 100 percent travel. You will work for 40 hours with Saturdays/Sundays off. Travel will be 4-6 weeks with 1 week off at home. All Federal holidays off and paid vacation. All travel expenses paid. Benefits offered.

T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons in August 2012. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with
two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA\xe2\x80\x99s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment
installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA\xe2\x80\x99s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories.

The carpenter is instrumental in the planning and laying out of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter\xe2\x80\x99s hand tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments, and making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work; and selecting materials necessary for the work. In general, the work of the maintenance carpenter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Must be able to:

  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
  • Measure, and calculate the size and amount of material needed to complete an assignment.
  • Measure, design and cut material as per the drawings.
  • Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in the commercial carpentry construction industry
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.
  • Must be able to travel 100%.
