Role Summary
The Business Development Associate at PlanCheckPro.AI will be responsible for growing adoption of the platform, expanding customer base (architects, developers, engineers, contractors, AHJs / permitting authorities), and closing deals. They must understand both the technical value proposition of the AI system and regulatory/compliance context in construction and permitting.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect and generate leads: target developers, architects, engineers, contractors, municipalities / jurisdictional bodies.
Explain PlanCheckPro.AI's value: faster reviews, code compliance, reference to exact code sections, cutting delays in permitting. PlanCheckPro
Demonstrate the product (demos), guide prospects through value proposition, handle objections, negotiate contract terms.
Work closely with marketing to support campaigns, webinars, content that generate demand.
Maintain and manage sales pipeline (CRM): track contacts, opportunities, forecasted revenue, conversion metrics.
Collaborate with product / engineering teams to relay feedback from prospects about features, regulatory needs, jurisdictional code requirements.
Monitor competitive landscape, industry trends (e.g. changes in building codes, private provider rule changes like HB 683 in Florida) to inform positioning. PlanCheckPro
Represent PlanCheckPro.AI at industry events, trade shows, permit & construction conferences.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related area (or equivalent professional experience).
2-5 years of sales or business development experience, software, or construction/permit/engineering related services.
Strong technical aptitude: ability to understand and communicate code compliance, permitting process, plan review, AI/ML-based tools.
Excellent communication and presentation skills -- able to talk to technical staff, decision makers, non-technical stakeholders.
Skills in negotiation, contract management, closing deals.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changes in regulation, product roadmap etc.
Experience with CRM tools, sales forecasting.
Local network or ability to build relationships in Florida real estate / construction / permitting circles is a plus.
What Success Looks Like
Hitting revenue targets / growth metrics for new customer acquisition.
High conversion rate from demo/proposal to closed deals.
Growing usage of PlanCheckPro.AI in key sectors (architects, developers, AHJs).
Strong feedback from customers: ease of use, value delivered, satisfaction.
Contribution to product improvements via feedback loop with clients.
