Role Summary
The Business Development Associate will support and drive the growth strategy for Pacifica by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating leads, managing client relationships, and helping the firm win contracts/projects. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic thinking and execution, working closely with senior leadership and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Research and identify potential clients in sectors relevant to Pacifica (commercial, residential, infrastructure, hospitality, educational/healthcare, retail/restaurants). Pacifica Engineering Services
Build and maintain a pipeline of leads: outreach, follow-ups, discovery calls, meetings.
Develop proposals and presentations tailored to client needs: understanding their challenges, explaining Pacifica's services (geotechnical, environmental, inspections, etc.), estimating cost/time etc.
Support bid/tender processes: collect information, prepare responses, ensure compliance with submission requirements.
Collaborate with technical teams (engineering, inspection, lab) to ensure feasibility of proposed jobs and pricing.
Track sales metrics / KPIs: e.g. number of leads, conversion rate, revenue generated, proposals submitted, client retention.
Attend industry events, networking, trade shows to generate contacts and increase brand visibility.
Maintain CRM data, ensure accurate records of interactions, forecasts, and reporting to leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2-5 years of experience in business development / sales in engineering, construction, consulting, or related industries.
Familiarity with engineering consulting services: geotechnical, inspections, environmental or testing services is strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal & communication skills: ability to present well, build trust with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to learn technical service offerings and translate them into value propositions for clients.
Self-motivated, goal oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in CRM tools, Monday.com,MS Office; ability to produce proposals/presentations.
Willingness to travel locally to meet clients / potential clients as needed.
What Success Looks Like
Consistent generation of qualified leads and proposals.
Achieving or exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets.
Building strong relationships with clients that lead to repeat business.
Ensuring high proposal hit rate (i.e., a significant fraction of proposals submitted turn into contracts).
Good feedback from clients and internal teams on responsiveness, clarity, and value delivered.
