Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)

  • This position involves analysis, design, and support of IT solutions for commercial Trading and Risk Management functions.
  • The successful candidate must be able to bridge the gap between user-functionality and system developers and assist in documenting, evaluating, and translating business architectures and needs into IT applications.
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for identifying and delivering solutions that support the assessment and management of the company\xe2\x80\x99s risk associated with commodity trading activities.
  • Lead discussions with all commercial trading departments to ensure all aspects of the company\xe2\x80\x99s operation are considered in the risk management solutions and captured in project documentation.
  • Help develop foundational tools for exposure, position and PnL reporting to be utilized daily and includes management level views driven by detailed analysis and gathered requirements.
  • Continuously monitor the effectives of delivered solutions and identify recommendations for improvements that support the company\xe2\x80\x99s risk management strategy.
  • Identify business requirements with supported analysis in the form of functional documentation to drive technical specifications.
  • Support the Quality Assurance team and product users during testing and validation.
  • Collaborate with Business users and IT teams throughout development lifecycle to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Work with product owners to organize and prioritize the backlog of requests.
  • Leverage agile delivery methodology and serve as Scrum Master when applicable to deliver valued solutions for business users.
  • Compiling project updates to present to senior leadership and perform project management responsibilities, as needed.
Job Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in IT business analysis or risk management, preferably in a commodity trading environment
  • Experience with the implementation of Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) systems for natural gas & power trading
  • Strong understanding of Front, Back and Middle Office operations
  • Solid Business Analyst skills, including experience interviewing client executives to gather and document business requirements and process mapping.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Visio, Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Experience with SQL, POWERBI, Tableau or SSAS
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required; major in MIS, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Business or Financial Engineering preferred.
  • An advanced degree is desirable.
