Breakfast attendants are valued members of the hospitality industry and help guests start each day in the best manner possible. Successful candidates for this position should have experience in the food service industry, serving experience, and the ability to follow food-handling guidelines to ensure that guests receive the best quality food and service possible. Having a food handlers' permit is also advantageous. A successful candidate for a breakfast attendant is someone who has impeccable people skills, who is attentive and motivated.


Responsibilities

Set up and break down the daily breakfast buffet, ensuring all items are prepared, stocked, and presented neatly. Work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced environment. Greet guests warmly and assist with any breakfast needs or questions. Monitor food levels and replenish items promptly to ensure continuous availability. Communicate effectively with customers and staff to ensure that the customers' needs are met. Maintain cleanliness of the dining and service areas, including tables, counters, and trash removal. Ensure that all food is handled, stored, and labeled according to health and safety regulations. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain inventory of breakfast supplies. Create an order list every Monday and Thursday to ensure breakfast products are delivered the following day. Properly receive and put away breakfast deliveries, ensuring all items are stored in their designated locations. Rinse all silverware and glassware thoroughly and place them in the dishwasher for proper sanitation. Circulate through the lobby and dining area regularly to wipe down tables and collect used plates, transporting them to the kitchen for cleaning in the dishwasher. Restock condiments, utensils, and beverage stations as needed. Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleanup. Report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or guest feedback to management. Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant during meal service, including sanitizing surfaces, sweeping, and mopping floors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience within the hospitality or food service industry preferred. Understanding of food safety and handling guidelines. Possession of a food handlers' permit is advantageous. Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Ability to work with little supervision. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask while maintaining a friendly disposition. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff and customers. Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
