The Main Purpose of the Job

The Branch Manager is responsible for building customer-centered internal sales and operations teams at the branch level, managing the branch\'s profitability, and overall ensuring the smooth operation of their site. The successful branch manager oversees the general operations of the branch. Branch managers are expected to operate with the highest integrity, so that vendors, customers, and employees can trust them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build the team at the branch
  • Hire, train, and manage the branch\'s internal sales and logistics teams.
  • Manage the activities of the internal sales team at the branch (inside sales, counter sales, and project managers).
  • Supervise the logistics team at the branch to insure smooth operations of warehousing and delivery
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for branch personnel
  • interpret and implement the organization\'s overall customer-centric strategy at the branch level
  • Manage the delivery of services (e.g. VMI)
Coordinate with Sales Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact at the branch level for the Directors of Industrial, Contractor and Renewable Sales
  • Serve as liaison between the external and internal sales force
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the sales force and operations
Develop and implement branch level business plan
  • Develop an annual business plan for the branch in alignment with the organization\'s overall vision as a customer-centric organization CDC and warehouse automation strategy
  • Implement and assess the effectiveness of the annual business plans and adjust accordingly
  • Monitor branch profitability improvement through regular review of key performance metrics (both financial and operational)
  • Support Sales Initiatives
  • Support the sales strategy of the organization
  • Coordinate with sales leaders for industrial, contractor and renewable sales segments to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers
  • Identify and resolve customer service problems and escalate to the Customer Experience team as needed
  • Monitor procedural and logistical processes to identify and lead the correction of problems, errors, shortcomings
Partner with suppliers/vendors
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and key partners to build strategic market advantages
  • Work cross-functionally to assess and address needs
  • Coordinate with the VP of Operations and their team to implement changes to the operations of the branch as needed
  • Coordinate with HR to identify and meet staff\'s training and development needs.
  • Collaborate with finance to guarantee prudent management of capital expenditure budget
Minimum work experience requirements:
  • 2-3 years of sales experience
  • 2-3 years of supply chain or operations management
  • Prior experience in the electrical industry preferred
  • Prior experience managing teams preferred
Minimum education requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience
