Job Description

Preparing and serving a variety of cocktails, with emphasis on

classic margaritas

, frozen drinks, and other Mexican-inspired beverages (e.g., palomas, micheladas, sangria). Mixing drinks efficiently during busy shifts, including happy hour rushes. Taking orders from bar patrons and servers, handling cash/credit transactions, and using a POS system. Maintaining the bar area: stocking inventory (liquor, garnishes, mixers), cleaning, and ensuring compliance with TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) regulations. Providing friendly, attentive customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment -- chatting with regulars, recommending drinks to pair with food like enchiladas or fajitas. Checking IDs, serving alcohol responsibly, and managing bar tabs. Assisting with light food service if needed (e.g., bar snacks or to-go orders). Opening/closing duties, including cash-outs and restocking.

Requirements

(typical for similar roles in Corpus Christi):

Previous bartending experience (1+ years preferred, especially in high-volume or Mexican/Tex-Mex settings). TABC certification (required in Texas for alcohol service). Food handler's certification (often required). Strong customer service skills, ability to work nights/weekends/holidays, and handle busy crowds. Knowledge of drink recipes, inventory management, and responsible alcohol service. At least 21 years old (for alcohol service).

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 50 per week
