management, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards, controlling inventory, and actually tending bar. The Bar Manager as bartender will play a key role in creating a memorable experience for guests while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage bar staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Oversee food preparation and beverage service to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
Manage Toast POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales tracking.
Control inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor stock to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, alcohol licensing laws, and health standards.
Coordinate shift management to ensure smooth operations during busy hours.
Develop and implement staff training programs focused on food safety, customer service, and operational procedures.
Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
Oversee kitchen management related to food production, catering services, banquet events, and casual dining operations.
Collaborate with ownership on budgeting, cost control, promotional activities, and event planning.
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
Requirements
Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management with a focus on bar operations.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
Proficiency with POS systems, especially Toast. Cash handling experience required.
Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience.
Familiarity with inventory control, budgeting, and food/service management practices.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
Experience in both casual dining and fine dining environments is preferred; banquet or catering experience is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Hospitality management background including training & development is highly desirable.
Knowledge of kitchen management processes including food handling and food production is advantageous.
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive team environment.
