We are looking for 2 Band Saw Benchmen | Hammermen to join our team in Florence, SC. We are looking for a hard-working, dedicated employees that are willing to learn. Come and grow with us!
Crafting precision with power, these experts wield hammers and technology to shape various types and sizes of band saws. Balancing brute force with finesse, they turn raw metal into cutting-edge tools with every strike.
Pay range $18.00 - $19.00 per hour based on experience
What you will be doing:
Use hammers with sill to shape the surface of the saw without damage.
Use gauges and grinders to meet vertical and cross leveling standards
Use machines that support the manufacturing and service (repair) of bandsaws
Use calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments. Must understand fractions and decimals.
Read industrial knife blueprints
Forklift Certified (or able to become certified)
Load | unload steel and saws both manually and with machines and/or a forklift
General cleaning of machines and area
Must cross-train to other positions as requested
May be required to provide support and training to others
Work with a high sense of urgency
Wear all required PPE
Active participation in Lean and Safety Training
Demonstrate ability to meet tact times
What we are looking for:
Must be at least 18 years old or older
Must have high school diploma or equivalent
Able to work with people to troubleshoot problems
Able to accomplish daily work requirements to meet customer demands
Must be able to speak and read English
Must be able to do basic math, including decimals and fractions
Must be able to lift 50 pounds alone or up to 100 pounds with lift assistance
Must be able to walk and stand for 8-12 hours a day
