We pride ourselves on the slow, meticulous process of baking, especially our signature wild yeast sourdough bread and our scratch-made daily pastries. Position Summary



We are seeking a dedicated and reliable

Baker

to manage our crucial early morning and weekend production. This role is essential for preparing the daily selection of sweet pastries, opening the bakery, and ensuring all prep work is completed efficiently for the day ahead. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a meticulous approach, and the consistency needed for high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Production & Opening:



Lead the Opening Shift:

Arrive at

5:00 AM

several days a week to open the bakery and begin production, ensuring all items are ready for the morning rush.

Bake Off Daily Sweet Items:

Prepare and bake off a variety of scratch-made pastries, including

muffins, cookies, sourdough scones

, and other seasonal delights.

Cinnamon Roll Production:

Prepare our famous

Sunday Cinnamon Rolls

and other rolled sweet dough items for the weekend rush.

Prep Work:

Execute ingredient scaling, mixing, and preparing components (fillings, frostings, toppings) required for all daily production.

Artisan Bread Support:



Assist the Head Baker with shaping and basic handling of our signature sourdough and other

yeast breads

as needed.

Kitchen Operations:



Maintain an immaculately clean and organized workstation and production area, adhering to all health and safety standards. Assist with receiving and storing ingredient deliveries, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO). Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock needs to the Head Baker.
Required Qualifications & Availability

Experience:

Some professional experience with yeast-leavened doughs

(breads, rolls, sweet rolls, etc.) is

required

. Previous experience as a baker or pastry assistant is highly preferred.

Availability:

Must be available to work:

Sundays from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

At least

three other days per week

with a required

5:00 AM start time.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to

50 lbs

, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Skills:

Excellent time management and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to strict deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits



Wage/Salary:

Hourly Wage is $17.25 per hour, plus tips.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.25 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
