Company Munich Re Life US Location New York , United States Munich Re US Life is currently seeking an Assistant Vice President to lead Finance Strategy. This position will develop and leverage relationships throughout the organization, both locally and globally, to develop and execute finance strategies supporting the US Life business. This role is ideal for a quick learner that likes to problem solve and drive solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
Recommend and implement structures to achieve capital efficiencies while balancing tax and liquidity implications
Develop qualitative and quantitative analysis to evaluate and obtain approval for recommended strategies
Ensure compliance with regulatory and tax requirements
Monitor experience on existing transactions
Support Business Unit heads on any new deal structures that will impact entity capital or liquidity positions
Research and assess potential new sources of income, as directed by senior management and develop business plans and pro-forma statements, as required
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the life insurance industry
Financial reporting and/or actuarial experience
Strong financial, strategic thinking, business acumen, analytical and problem solving skills
Experience in constructing complex reinsurance and capital management transactions
Solid understanding of accounting, regulatory and tax rules in the US and off-shore jurisdictions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; effective at documenting and communicating analysis, findings and conclusions
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; service and results oriented

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $235,285 to $260,052, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
