Job Description


THIS POSITION IS ALSO BEING POSTED AT THE ENGINEER LEVEL (R-020745); HOWEVER ONLY ONE POSITION WILL ULTIMATELY BE FILLED.

This is a hybrid role. The first three months are full time in the office.

The Associate Distribution Engineer located in the Portsmouth Area Work Center will support the NH Eastern Region. Individual will identify, plan, and prioritize system additions and reinforcements needed to meet reliability, power quality, and system load growth needs. This will include electrical distribution system modeling, addressing voltage complaints, monitoring system loading, providing technical support to field initiatives like distributed automation expansion, reliability enhancement programs, and responding to system field engineering issues as they arise.

Essential functions:

  • Work in a team environment with other engineers, craft workers, customers, contractors, and supervisors.
  • Must have strong communication skills. Strong written and verbal communication are key in in our work group.
  • Develops reliability improvement and capacity related projects, gains approval for selected projects and supports development of the New Hampshire Distribution Capital program.
  • Review various reliability and system reports and propose appropriate corrective actions when required.
  • Investigate and address customer voltage concerns.
  • Provide engineering support to Field Engineering Designers related to proper fusing, equipment sizing, and specifications.
  • Understand and follow the Company safety rules. Ensure that safe work practices are followed by others and take responsibility for the safety of self, other workers (internal and external), and customers. Considers safety in all aspects of assigned work.
  • Provides engineering support during abnormal system conditions and emergency restoration. Responds when needed in assigned storm role.
Education:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, required.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, preferred.
Experience:
  • Zero to three (3) years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with electric distribution system engineering, electric power distribution system construction, operation, and maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience with Power System modeling software preferred.
  • Strong customer focus experience and a plus one attitude towards the customer.
Licenses:
  • A valid motor vehicle operator\xe2\x80\x99s license is required.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $92,140.00 to $102,380.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
