1.1 Billion! The investment volume for a multi-year horizon project for the Lean Digital Core (LDC), which is a major transformation project for Novartis Group, spanning all units and functions globally.

This role will help drive the execution of Novartis\xe2\x80\x99 ambition to turn process, data, and digital into a strategic asset to become a leading medicines company powered by advanced therapy platforms and data science, as part of a Global Process Owner (GPO) team.
The Global Process Associate Director (GPAD) works with the Global Process Owner to define the global standard process in area of defined responsibility, leveraging business input & needs across the Novartis Operating Units.
In this role you will enable excellence in process design & efficiency, creating value with best-in-class definitions, realize the digital technology solutions and data and, where applicable, lead a group of countries representing an \xe2\x80\x9carchetype\xe2\x80\x9d in Design activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable to define strategy for the global End-to-End (E2E) process in line with business models and business strategy goals, to design the standard process comparable to best in class process definitions and in line with Novartis guidelines and Divisions specific requirements
  • Accountable to identify areas of opportunities for process& procedures flow improvements, including areas where harmonize and standardization of processes is possible to better optimize the investments made
  • Accountable to define a business serving process governance and chair the Process Board; escalate to Enterprise Process Board (EPB) if required and applicable
  • Take business ownership of all technology solutions related standardized processes
  • Own and drive the harmonization of processes, data and systems across countries, divisions and business functions, drives future efficiency & effectiveness improvements as well as better user experience
  • Actively manage relationships with key stakeholders at all levels, especially in conjunction with the drive towards harmonization in countries, divisions and business functions
  • Responsible for the development of process training materials and deliver standard process trainings and certification

This position will be located at the East Hanover, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $174,400 and $261,600 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an \xe2\x80\x9cat-will position\xe2\x80\x9d and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum requirements
What will you bring to the role
  • University level degree in Business Administration or in Economics or in Finance
  • At least 7+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in country and global roles
  • Previous experience in Pricing, Tendering & Contract Management areas
  • Business acumen: very good understanding of various worldwide data models in respective business units and divisions, required capabilities and operational pain points
  • Digital savvy: very good grasp of the impacts and opportunities of data and technology will create to Novartis
  • Advanced leadership skills: ability to inspire change and influence organization, experienced in leading organizations through strategic changes
  • Pharmaceutical Industry knowledge & experience is a must
  • Experience of cross-geographies, cross-divisional and/or cross-functional ERP implementation
  • Additional Project Management training, a certification/designation desirable; Lean / Six Sigma Certified preferred
