Prior hotel experience, specifically in front desk operations, is mandatory.



Assistant Hotel Manager



We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Hotel Manager to join our hospitality team. This role is essential for smooth hotel operations and requires strong leadership, hands-on involvement, and a commitment to excellent guest service. Responsibilities



Guest Service & Front Desk Operations



Greet guests in a polite, professional, and welcoming manner. Complete check-ins and check-outs, verify identification, process payments, and issue room keys. Manage walk-ins, reservations, cancellations, and modifications across all channels. Answer phones and emails professionally while assisting guests with hotel and local information. Handle guest complaints calmly and professionally, escalating serious issues to management. Maintain accuracy on folios, charges, room assignments, and guest profiles.

Cash, Payment & Revenue Responsibilities



Process all cash, credit card, and online payments correctly. Perform cash drops, shift audits, and end-of-shift financial reports when needed. Post incidental charges such as market items, late checkouts, damages, and fees. Report payment issues, chargebacks, and suspicious transactions. Protect revenue by maintaining accuracy and preventing errors or fraud.

Night Audit (for overnight coverage when needed)



Run end-of-day reports and reconcile daily transactions. Verify room status, balances, and revenue totals are correct. Investigate and document discrepancies. Prepare audit reports for the morning shift. Prepare breakfast items and ensure the breakfast area is stocked, clean, and ready for guests.

Safety, Security & Guest Control



Monitor lobby activity and security cameras. Confirm only registered guests access guest floors. Handle difficult, disruptive, or intoxicated guests safely and professionally. Contact management or law enforcement when a situation becomes unsafe. Monitor property activity during overnight, high-risk, or low-staff periods.

Property Support & Cleanliness Oversight



Keep the front desk, lobby, breakfast area, and back office clean and organized. Assist with basic lobby cleaning and restroom checks when needed. Communicate room issues to housekeeping and maintenance immediately. Support housekeeping during shortages by helping with towels, linens, supplies, and guest requests.

Systems & Administrative Work



Use the property management system to manage reservations, guest accounts, and reports. Maintain accurate guest notes, incidents, and preferences. Review daily arrival and departure lists and monitor room inventory and availability. Assist with rate monitoring, revenue updates, and management reports. Experience with SynXis Property Manager and Wyndham Okta is a plus.

Breakfast & Early Morning Duties



Assist with setting up continental breakfast when needed. Restock items, maintain cleanliness, and monitor food safety standards.

Leadership & Hotel Operations



Oversee and support departments including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance. Train and mentor staff to promote teamwork and high performance. Manage hotel financial performance, including budgeting and cost controls. Assist in any area of the hotel when required, including front desk, breakfast, housekeeping, and maintenance. Coordinate hotel events and support smooth execution. Commit to a 50-hour work schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Physical & Mental Requirements



Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly. Strong multitasking ability while under time pressure. Ability to work independently without constant supervision. Must remain alert and responsible during overnight or low-staff shifts.

Qualifications



At least 1 year of hotel experience is required (front desk strongly preferred).

Experience with hotel operations and financial responsibilities. Familiarity with hotel management systems. Flexibility to work varied schedules, including holidays and weekends. Salary Range



$47,647.60 - $59,980.00 annually

depending on experience.
Starting salary is at the lower end of the range. Raises are based on performance and time with the property.
