The Assistant Executive Steward will play an important role in the oversight of all Steward Department operations. Making sure the food and beverage outlets run smoothly and efficiently while ensuring health, safety, and sanitation standards are consistent and in line with policy and procedures.
Expanding beyond restaurant or hotel banquet operations, but as a hub for gatherings and entertainment, our goal is to create an ambiance where locals and visitors feel at home. This is achieved with a solid grounded team led by a seasoned hospitality professional, the Assistant Executive Steward.
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties):
This role will work closely with the Executive Steward, Executive Chef, and Sous Chef to:
Assist with hiring, motivating, evaluating, and if necessary, recommend disciplinary actions of employees within the Stewards department
Ensuring all employees have the proper resources and training to perform the duties of their job
Maintain open lines of communication with all departments
Maintain a clean and always organized front desk area
Order and receive all non-food items within the Food & Beverage department
Recommend replacement parts for equipment in the food department
Ensure all equipment within the department is in working order and up to company standards
Other duties assigned by management

MUST HAVE'S
Communicate effectively with all levels of employees
Previous Stewarding experience
Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to communicate, verbally and written, in English
WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S
Supervisory experience involving scheduling and manpower counts preferred
Complete understanding of all operations of the Stewards department
A minimum of two years progressive experience within the Stewards department
Bilingual in English and Spanish
THE WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting, bending, reaching, stooping, and kneeling
Working environment includes exposure to varying levels of heat, cold, sound, smoke, and vibrations, the severity of which depends upon customer volume. Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as wet floors and chemicals. Proper safety precautions are taken
Working with standard office equipment
Ability to follow and comply to policies, procedures, chemical labels, and other necessary instructions
Ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to shoulder height and push/pull loads of up to 100 pounds
Move around all areas of responsibility in an efficient manner
Ability to squat and bend for the stocking and retrieval of supplies as needed
