*SALARY LISTED INCLUDES EDUCATION PAY*

This position, under minimal supervision, plans, directs, manages, and coordinates the programs and activities of the engineering Department with other City Departments and outside agencies. Provides support to the City Engineer.

Duties

  • Support department in current and long range planning, special studies, and projects/program management.
  • Coordinate and review plans and specifications for public and private infrastructure improvements and help resolve problems.
  • Perform construction reviews for compliance with City, State, and Federal codes.
  • Respond to and help resolve difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints.
  • To design, survey, handle bidding and contracting for drainage and utility projects as assigned.
  • Assist in the Administrative Capital Improvements Program, budgeting and departmental needs.
  • Acquire easements/right-of-ways and write legal descriptions, prepare technical studies and reports.
  • Maintain awareness of new developments in the field of engineering; incorporate new developments into programs as appropriate.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university, with major in field of Engineering.
  • Two years of work experience in the position of engineer.
Certificates and Licenses:
  • Professional Engineer licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
  • Valid driver\'s license
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of engineering principals, practices, and methods; design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of applicable city policies, laws, codes, regulations, statutes and standards.
  • Management skills to analyze programs, policies, and operational needs.
  • Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization and the general public.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written).
