The Area Manager-Large Store is responsible for all sales activities for an assigned territory and Its customer base. This position will be responsible for leading, training, and developing the Sales Supervisors, Merchandisers, and distribution team members, while ensuring monthly and yearly sales goals are achieved in the most effective manner.
What your day will look like:
Provides direction and leadership, communicates goals and objectives, and drives training programs for their teams
Implement market plans and strategies to meet volume, revenue, share, and cash flow goals
Makes decisions on staffing, conducts all performance evaluations, and reviews individual and team performance
Coordinates all sales activities to ensure the highest level of execution on all marketing initiatives, new product introductions, and overall Picture of Success (PicOS)
Provides feedback and recommendations to leadership on competitive threats and business opportunities
Reviews business results with customers on a pre-determined frequency and gains alignment on key business initiatives
Analyzes and controls expenditures of Sales Center to conform to budgetary requirements
Tracks, measures and analyzes execution of Picture of Success (PicOS) across each area of responsibility using the internal execution trackers available
Responsible for conducting in-outlet surveys to measure performance vs Picture of Success (PicOS)
Build strong relationships throughout all levels of leadership across multiple customers
Ability to maintain professional relationships with all internal and external customers
Trains each team member on the management of customer business plans as measured by key business indicators and customer satisfaction
Establishes routines between team members that will allow proper communication and follow through on all customers
Executes channel/customer annual business plans, programs, pricing, and all communications
Successfully launches and executes all new products and pillar programs across multiple customers
What you need to succeed:
Minimum of 21 years old
Class A CDL Preferred and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively in this fast-paced environment
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to quickly learn internal UNITED systems, SAP, and Margin Minder
Beverage and consumer packaged goods experience preferred
Previous business development planning experience preferred
Complex selling knowledge with proven ability to create and sell-in customer specific promotional programs & key initiatives
Proven ability to manage needs and concerns of multiple stakeholders
Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and people management skills
Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple employees
Frequent standing, walking, and exposure to weather
