The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens and leaders.
The AmeriCorps Specialist supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County's (BGCUC) AmeriCorps programs--the AUSI (AmeriCorps Utah STEM initiative) and YMHC (Youth Mental Health Corps). These programs partner with schools and community organizations across the state to deliver crucial youth programs. Reporting to the AmeriCorps Directors, this essential role ensures smooth operations, robust grant compliance, effective partner relationships, and comprehensive support for AmeriCorps members throughout their enrollment and terms of service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Member Enrollment & Onboarding:
Manage the full cycle of AmeriCorps member enrollment, including recruiting, selecting, onboarding, and ensuring all available member slots are filled in compliance with BGCUC and AmeriCorps policies.
2.
Performance & Development:
Monitor member performance and development on an ongoing basis, providing regular feedback, appraisal, training, and professional development opportunities to ensure program success and member safety.
3.
Program Implementation & Compliance:
Support the implementation of program services as outlined in the AmeriCorps AUSI and YMHC grants, to include adapting curriculum and monitoring member sites to ensure adherence to program goals and grant parameters.
4.
Partner Relationships:
Cultivate and maintain positive, effective relationships with subsites (schools, after-school programs, and community organizations) to ensure site compliance and optimal performance.
5.
Reporting & Record Keeping:
In regular coordination with both AmeriCorps Directors, help develop and maintain proper record-keeping to ensure necessary program reporting (including participation figures, metrics, and achievements).
6. Support fundraisers, special events, and other duties as assigned.
7. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
? 18+ years of age
? United States citizen or legal permanent resident
? Pass state and federal background checks
? Valid State Driver's License
? Reliable Transportation
? High school diploma or GED. Preference will be given to individuals with educational and/or work experience related to youth program management, mental health, education, and social services fields
? Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
? Meet the requirements set by the Corporation for National and Community Service
? Strong communication skills
? Proficiency in Google Work suite or Microsoft Office
? Ability to work with partner organizations and the general public.
? Knowledge of youth development
? Experience planning and implementing quality programs for youth.
? Experience working with and motivating youth.
