Job Description


Position: Airfield Manager Operations Manager Reports To: Airfield Manager Department: Airfield Management Services \xe2\x80\x93 Columbus AFB, MS FLSA Status: Exempt Supervises: None Salary: $70,000-$75,000 annually
General Function Provide Airfield Management Services by establishing performance standards, procedures and work priorities for personnel working in the Airfield Management Operations section to support aircrew and Airfield Management activities that ensures safe, effective and efficient airfield operations. Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities) 1. Review and initial flight plans, traffic logs, Air Force Forms 3616, Notice to Airmen and other supporting flight data information for accuracy, completeness and conformance with established directives. 2. Maintain a current Read File and updating Management Internal Control Toolset SelfAssessment Communicators as determined by 14th Flying Training Wing, Airfield Operations Flight, Contracting Officer\xe2\x80\x99s Representative, and Airfield Manager and in preparation for upcoming Air Force Inspections. 3. Additional support may be required but not limited to after-hours, during natural disasters, emergencies or military exercises. 4. Travel may be required. 5. Other duties as assigned.   • Active DOD Secret clearance preferred
  • Complete understanding of the flying mission, aircraft characteristics, airfield criteria/standards,
Civil Engineering/Safety, Air Force Instructions and Air Force Manuals, aircraft maintenance support, impact of weather on operations and the effect of various support activities on flight operations is required.
  • Drug Screen, Motor Vehicle, and Background Check: pass with ability to maintain throughout
employment. Minimum Experience & Education
  • At least three years management experience executing Airfield Management duties required.
  • Bird Aircraft Safety Hazard Equipment, 12 gauge shotgun, 15 MM Screamer Pistol and
Pyrotechnic Equipment Training, if not previously completed, shall be completed within six months of hire.
  • Advanced Airfield Managers course completion recommended.
  • Complete local qualification training requirements and conduct a document review of the most

current United States Air Force Position Certification Guide for the duty position being filled within six months of hire. Required Contacts
