The Purchasing Agent\xe2\x80\x94Fuel will provide operational support for designated operating companies which will encompass supply of all compliant fuels in a high-pressure, fast-paced and volatile commodity market\xe2\x80\x94directly contributing to the safe and efficient bunkering of all vessels in assigned operating companies. This role will also support the overall contractual and spot sourcing activities including Total Cost of Ownership (price, freight, duties, cost of quality, etc.), and drive Annual Cost Savings of 3% - 5%. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Managing and support Transactional activities including demand management, fulfilment, scheduling and lift optimization.
  • Developing & maintaining complete knowledge and understanding of all vessels & ports within his / her area of responsibility.
  • Provide support & inputs to decisions that affect the operational area of responsibility, direct communication with Chief Engineers, Captains, Suppliers and Shoreside Management.
  • Drive continuous improvement to all aspects of Fuel operational processes including identifying areas for process improvement and standardization of processes for efficiency.
  • Managing the complete portfolio of operational tasks required to fuel the Fleet with a strong bias to streamlining and automating tasks as quickly as possible.
  • Ability to collaborate in teams, especially with Fleet Operations and Strategic Sourcing, to ensure supply assurance, on-time delivery, quality of fuel, and meeting of SLAs.
  • Provide Support for special projects and sourcing efforts, including supplier performance measurements and spot buying activities, and management / maintenance of our Fuel Operations Systems.
  • Support fuel procurement managers with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to supplier community.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Position report to VP Fuel Procurement and will work very closely with the Fuel Procurement Director and Sr. Managers. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Highschool Diploma or GED, Bachelor\'s Degree preferred.
  • Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Engineering, Functional Experience
  • Basic comprehension of Commercial marine or cruise trade preferred
  • 1-3 years of professional experience, preferably in the cruise industry with demand planning/forecasting capability.
  • Must know how to use Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Needs to be able to work on a on-call rotational shifts providing night and weekend operational coverage.
  • Experience with supply chain & logistical needs of cruise vessels is strongly preferred.
  • Basic mathematical and statistical knowledge required.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Offers to select candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
