The Afterschool & Camp director will be responsible for designing and implementing a program that meets the needs of the children and their families, communicate with staff, children and children\xe2\x80\x99s parents, provide supervision and will work closely with the team to ensure a continuing quality program and a commitment to the mission of Christ the King School.

Duties and Responsibilities include providing activities which stimulate physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth for children through the use of developmentally appropriate practices. Promoting positive self esteem in children and motivate children toward a positive attitude about school. Communicating on a regular basis with parents to build greater consistency for children. Complying with state guidelines and standards for licensed programs . Reporting to early ed. director and principal about any new staff hired, problems, concerns, issues, emergencies, parent complaints, or equipment needs/repairs. Hiring and maintaining staff as needed for programs.

Christ the King School is a Catholic elementary school in Burlington serving learners of all faiths from three years old through eighth grade. For the past 83 years we have focused on providing a high quality, values based, rigorous and rewarding learning experience for our students. Our comprehensive curriculum focuses on the development of the whole child; body, mind and spirit. We encourage our students to discover and to develop their God-given gifts and to become people of character who possess a love for learning and a zest for life

Job Requirements
    • Associates or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required
    • At least one of the following:
    oAt least ten (10) months of experience working with school-aged children oVermont On-The-Job Training certificate oVermont Afterschool Professional Credential oVermont Program Director Credential oVermont Teacher Licensure oMaster\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a youth-related field Position Expectations

    oUnderstand child development for school-aged children and be able to facilitate homework help
    • Responsible for the supervision of After School personnel
    • Alignment with program mission and philosophy of Christ the King School
    • Open and honest communication with Program Director as well as children and families
    • Ability to take constructive criticism and implement into practice
    • Maintain confidentiality
    • Uphold no gossip policy as set forth in the Staff Handbook
    • Uphold all elements of policy and procedure set forth in the Staff Handbook
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
