, a nationally recognized and award-winning agency, is looking for energetic, highly motivated, and responsible Assistant Summer Camp Directors!

You must be able to work from June 2023 through August 2023.

Assistant Summer Camp Directors will support the Camp Director to develop, plan, lead and implement a summer camp program, providing skilled leadership through supervision of paid and volunteer staff and day-to-day camp operations to assure safe and fun activities children and youth ages 6 - 21!

As Assistant Summer Camp Director, you will work in collaboration with, and under the leadership of, the Summer Camp Director to:

l Lead a team to plan and implement activities including arts and crafts, dance, exercise, music, sports, games, outdoor play and offsite experiences

l Supervise/oversee staff and complete required administrative tasks, including maintenance of accurate records, incident logs and other functions

l Develop and implement daily/weekly activity schedules for campers

l Establish and maintain an orderly and safe system to greet, escort and monitor campers throughout the camp day

l Assure provision of learning and enrichment opportunities through games and activities

l Resolve conflicts and maintain order among campers, and address behavioral issues and concerns

l Assure that all safety and health protocols are followed, including performing first aid and addressing injuries as needed

l Demonstrate independent judgement, tactfulness and excellent customer service!

To be a successful Assistant Summer Camp Director, you should:

l Have completed at least two years of college (60 credits)

l Have a valid driver\'s license (for job-related duties)

l Have experience as an Assistant Camp Director, lead Camp Counselor or other experience working with children and youth

l Be reliable, patient, and have good organizational and communication skills

l Enjoy working with children and youth

l Demonstrate a positive attitude

l Be able to meet physical demands, participate in outdoor activities, strenuous events

l Be first-aid and/or CPR certified (preferred)

l Plan to attend pre-season trainings, weekly staff briefings/meetings

l Be available to work Monday through Friday, from June 2023 through August 2023

All candidates will be required to successfully pass a criminal history background check, as well as a child protective services background check. These processes will include State, Federal and Sexual Offender registry checks.

The hourly rate for this SEASONAL/TEMPORARY position is $16.78!

Senior Camp Counselor positions are available at multiple locations. Applicants with worksite preferences should clearly list the community center/facility on the application and/or resume. Please note that the County reserves the right to place staff at community/centers based on service needs.

Minimum Qualifications

l Education: Completion of two years of college (60 credits)

l Experience: 1500 hours of relevant work experience as leader/instructor in one or more specialized recreation activities

l Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

l License: Possession of a valid driver\'s license when required for job-related duties.
