What you will be doing:
This position serves as the Administrative Officer and Chief Finance Officer for the Section of Women\'s Children\'s and Family Health within the Division of Public Health, ensuring the integrity of all administrative functions including supervising three administrative staff positions. Responsibilities for this position will include budget development; oversight of the following areas within the Section: human resources and payroll; accounts payable/receivable; purchasing supplies, services, contracting and property. The ideal candidate is highly skilled and knowledgeable about budget development, accounting and financial management, personnel processes and management using various State of Alaska systems.

This position is located in the Frontier Building in midtown Anchorage. There is ample parking, and we are close to bus lines, parks, restaurants and shopping.

You will lead a customer-friendly administrative team and provide administrative support to seasoned public health experts. When we do our jobs well together, our team is responsible for several key maternal child health programs, and this position holds an important role in this dynamic group of professionals dedicated to supporting health quality, access and equity for women, infants, children, and adolescents.

Minimum Qualifications


Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in
  • Administration and Management: Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.
