Description

The New England School of Communications is looking for a part-time adjunct faculty
member to teach various courses within the BS Marketing Communications (Bangor
campus) and BS Marketing (online) degree programs. Courses may include MK 216
Principles of Advertising, MK 220 Marketing Fundamentals, MK 228 Digital Marketing
Principles & Strategies, MK 322 Social Media Marketing, or MK 338 Marketing
Research. These courses meet in various modalities, once per week and twice per
week on the Bangor campus or 100% online. This opening is during the Spring 2023
semester (1/16/23-5/5/23)
The Marketing Communications degree combines business knowledge with
communication skills to prepares students for careers in marketing, public relations,
advertising, social media, and sales through theory and practice. It offers students a
project-based curriculum that focuses on communicating an organization\'s brand,
online persona, image, and reputation to generate sales and revenue. Students
generate creative solutions and compelling stories that address clients\' marketing
challenges while appealing to their consumers. This concentration provides
opportunities for students to build their knowledge and skills with graphic design,
photography, video, and web design while taking core communications and
marketing courses. As students progress in this concentration they will have the
opportunity to work with clients as part of a student-run agency and complete
internships to apply what they have learned while developing a professional portfolio
of work.

Examples of Duties

  • Provide students proper instruction with content, and utilize text books required for
this course to achieve programmatic objectives
  • Accurately track and assess student progress and maintain Husson University
standards
  • Advising the Academic Director on proposed curricular changes
  • Assisting the department in experiential assessments & exercises where
appropriate
  • Assist in the research and assessment of industry trends and future technologies
concerning curriculum
  • Additional Responsibilities:
o Gathering data and preparing detailed documents
o Representing the School off campus when appropriate
o Serving on committees, as appropriate
o Performing other duties as assigned by the administration

Typical Qualifications

Education: Masters Degree Required. MFA or other terminal degree preferred.
Experience: At least 1-3 years of work experience in related field.
College level teaching experience preferred.
