Job Description


Job Responsibilities

Performs daily set-up of laboratory equipment and skills stations per course instructor needs; serves as a psychomotor lab instructor in initial EMT Courses; conducts meaningful laboratory lessons based on current National EMS Educational Standards, NASEMSO Clinical guidelines and other industry standards; evaluates student skill proficiency and provides critique and feedback on performance; accurately completes documents and forms in lab; works collaboratively with other faculty to ensure psychomotor skill consistency; performs daily break-down and cleaning of laboratory equipment; performs minor repair of broken or damaged equipment as feasible and reports same to course instructor; exercises superior organizational skills in maintaining order and cleanliness of all lab and storage areas; other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Department Chair. Teaching may be on any of the campuses, and may be days, nights, weekends, or a combination.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Associate degree, current certification as a Nationally Registered Paramedic, current certification as a SC Paramedic, two years\' prehospital paramedic experience, demonstrated proficiency in psychomotor skills; must be able to function independently exercising professional discretion at all times.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years\' pre-hospital experience, two years\' previous teaching experience, current certification as a CPR Instructor with AHA, ARC, OR AHSI, current SC DHEC EMT Instructor credential, (or obtainable within three months), completion of SC-approved EMS or Fire instructor Methodology course (or obtainable with three months).
