The Addictions Counselor provides counseling and case management services while also being responsible for monitoring and delivering high quality services to co-occurring diagnosed/chemically dependent patients. Primary responsibilities include: Coordination of the full continuum of care; Assessment and documentation of clinical needs; Implementing and delivering individual, group therapy and educational services; preparation of PCPC reports. The provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu; Crisis intervention; And full participation with the multidisciplinary team toward meeting a patient\xe2\x80\x99s treatment plan objectives. Discharge planning and referrals to community resources as required.

Qualifications

Master\'s degree with a major in psychology, social work, counseling, nursing or other related field which includes a practicum in a health and human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. Clinical/ Social Work licensure in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required. . Must posess knowledge of co-occuring disorders/ chemical dependency treatment approaches, motivational interviewing, 12 Step Program recover philosphies, basic counseling group processes, therapeutic relationships, age specific growth and developmental conditions impacting treatment, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques, understanding of funding sources, community resources and discharge planning.
