JOB SUMMARY: The Accounting Supervisor to manage our Finance Operations team. This role reports to the VP of Finance and has 3 direct reports. The Finance Operations team is responsible for all day-to-day accounting operations including financial accounting, accounts payable, and payroll. Revenue and accounts receivable are managed by a separate team. This is a customer facing role that requires excellent organization skills, attention to detail, as well as strong leadership and management skills.

Essential duties and Reponsbilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage all accounting functions including general ledger management, cash management, and accounts payable
  • Ensure all work complies with generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls, organization policies, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Monitor general ledger coding for accuracy, review and approve journal entries, and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain and process cost allocations
  • In collaboration with the Revenue Team, ensure an accurate and timely month-end close.
  • Draft monthly financial statements
  • Collaborate within Finance and across the organization to manage department reports and budget management
  • Assist with preparation for annual fiscal audit and annual 990 tax return
  • Maintain standing data in all accounting and planning systems
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Identify and recommend updates to accounting policies and procedures and well as process improvements to support a growing organization
  • Hire, train, manage, and develop team of 3 staff including setting annual goals, providing regular feedback on performance, and ensuring that staff have the opportunity to continue to learn and grow in their roles
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
  • Act as backup for the Accounting Manager
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in accounting or similar field, CPA highly desired
  • Minimum of 5-7 years related experience; experience working in a non-profit organization or with government contracts a big plus
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications. Experience with MIP (Sage), Concur and ADP a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively across an organization
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
  • Aptitude to learn and grow within the team
  • Must be able to pass a Community Care Licensing background check
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work as needed
