Job Description


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for supervision of general ledger, accounts receivable, payroll and accounts payable functions
  • Assists staff with technical accounting issues and general problem solving
  • Ensures accounting accuracy through review of expenditure coding, journal entry preparation and account reconciliations
  • Recommending and implementing internal control procedures, including cash handling and segregation of duties
  • Coordinates monthly closing and production of financial statements
  • Trained in general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to cover those areas during periods of staff absence
  • Monitors cash movements daily and reports cash balances to management weekly
  • Assist in yearly budget and reforecast cycles
  • Maintains fixed asset database and records monthly depreciation
  • Documentation of department policies and procedures
  • Assist with preparation of annual audit work papers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • Five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a supervisory role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Public accounting experience
  • CPA
WORKING CONDITIONS

The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing less than forty pounds.
