The Opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is searching for an Accounting Manager to join our team at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. In this role, you will oversee a variety of accounting functions including accounts receivables, performing financial reporting, closing the books, consolidating financial results, reviewing reports, and performing accounts payable invoice approvals. You will also work with the subsidiary leadership and Global Business Services (Corporate Accounting) team to continuously improve efficacy hand-offs or transitions of work.

This role will be in the office 4 days per week and from home 1 day per week. We require occasional weekend days during busy season for NFL games on Sundays and concerts.

Minimum - Anticipated Maximum Salary: $63700 - $84400 / year

Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounting function at the unit, including effective management of unit accounting and credit card reconciliation.
  • Ensure team is knowledgeable of policies, procedures, and internal controls. Complete audits to ensure compliance.
  • Executes strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, accounts receivables, financial systems and controls.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for the business unit.
  • Support annual plan and projection process for business unit, provides insightful review of year-over-year changes and recommends areas of focus to improve operating margins.
  • Leads or assists with ad hoc analyses of the finances and prepares reports to facilitate decision making.
  • Perform a variety of complex accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records.
  • Identify Delaware North client exceptions to the standard Accounting processes and identify, in conjunction with business unit leadership, ways to gradually shift client\'s expectations toward Delaware North\'s standard practices.
  • Work closely with Global Business Services team to continuously improve efficacy hand-offs or transitions of work.
  • Analyze and report variances and driving month-end accounting duties.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in accounting highly preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Hospitality industry experience highly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of finance and accounting processes.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and PeopleSoft Financially or similar accounting software.
  • Facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication.
