GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Wyoming Supreme Court, located in Cheyenne, Wyoming, seeks to hire an Applications Training Specialist to position oversee the training of new software applications and business processes. This position will require intricate familiarity with the business processes of the courts and require competency with information, applications, and systems.

The Wyoming Supreme Court is the final arbiter of cases that arise under state law. Its decisions are final except for cases that involve a question of federal law, which can be appealed to the United States Supreme Court. The AOC assists the Judicial Branch in fulfilling its constitutional and statutory functions by providing administrative, technical, financial, payroll, auditing, and human resources support to over 300 employees. Our goal is to provide services in an accurate, timely, efficient, and equitable manner. Our offices are in Cheyenne, Wyoming which is home to the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo and abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position will support conversions, application/system testing, and documentation of system procedures. The position provides go-live support and serves as the primary point of contact for ongoing maintenance/support and troubleshooting as it pertains to system configuration. This position will need to become an expert in the use of Wyoming Supreme Court software applications to provide support to court staff and other partners.

Job duties include the following:

Applications & Technical Knowledge

  • Understand job-specific functions and tasks.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the technical aspects of Wyoming Judicial Branch applications.
  • Participate in end-user training as needed
Communication/Documentation
  • Act as a secondary point of contact on technical application matters (migration, data points, configurations, updates, etc.) in communications with the Applications, IT teams, and Vendors.
  • Promptly and accurately record inquiries and their resolutions.
  • Document internal processes and procedures.
Testing/Upgrades
  • Assist in system analysis, design, development, and testing activities.
  • Stays up to date on application releases and enhancements
  • Provide support in developing, implementing, and testing patch releases and system upgrades
  • Create system test plans
Configuration
  • Assist in the configuration of branch applications based on business requirements.
  • Plan and execute assigned configuration tasks within deadlines.
  • Develop configuration requirement documents and obtain approval from business owners.
  • Review and recommend changes to existing configuration processes.
  • Provide system configuration support based on changing business needs
Help Desk
  • Respond to requests for service and assistance with assigned applications
  • Analyze and resolve configuration issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and share responsibility for a very busy help desk. Resolve help desk tickets that involve unique, complex, and unpredictable situations.
  • Identify and communicate trends, escalating as appropriate. Analyze help desk tickets for opportunities for increased configuration efficiencies. Create checklists for the resolution of typical help-desk issues.

PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Preference is given to candidates with direct knowledge and work experience with Branch business applications, project management, and/or case management systems.

  • Wyoming laws and statutes.
  • Report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
  • Microsoft Office 365.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology, Business, or closely related field.
Experience
3 or more years of Information Technology, business applications, or case management experience.

OR

Work Experience
A minimum of six years of work experience is required without a degree.
