Role Summary




The Wilson Lumber Cares Leader coordinates company ministry initiatives aligned with Wilson Lumber's mission and core values. This role leads Wilson Lumber Cares, a division of the company that utilizes company resources to care for our employees, our community, and our world. The Leader ensures that all ministry efforts are executed with excellence, compassion, and organizational alignment.

Scope of the Position




This role oversees multiple volunteer teams supporting culture, engagement, spiritual development, and local/global outreach. The Wilson Lumber Cares Leader works across all Wilson Lumber Alabama/Tennessee locations and partners with internal leaders, chaplains, nonprofit organizations, and global ministry partners. Travel up to 40% is required.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership and Oversight



Lead and manage Wilson Lumber Cares as a ministry division serving employees, the community, and global partners. Operate within the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) framework, including team leadership, accountability, and meeting rhythms. Recruit, train, and oversee all Wilson Lumber Cares Team Leaders and volunteers. Regularly evaluate the impact of all WL Cares programs and drive innovation for future initiatives.

Employee Care



Oversee the Food & Fellowship Team. Manage the Life Events Team Oversee Spiritual Growth efforts, including devotion coordination with Corporate Chaplains, prayer gatherings, and Easter service support. Oversee the Benevolence Fund, including the approval process, training for managers and chaplains, and serving as liaison with the Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) supervisor.

Community Care



Manage partnerships with Community Care Partners, including annual selection processes at all locations. Coordinate workdays, onsite visits, and fundraising events for North Alabama nonprofits.

Global Care



Maintain partnership with Awakening Hope. Coordinate purpose-driven mission trips to Guatemala, including logistics, employee promotion, and participation. Oversee student sponsorship programs for children in El Potrerillo.

Corporate Chaplain Coordination



Meet quarterly with Corporate Chaplains to review care activity and needs. Process monthly Corporate Chaplains of America (CCA) reports. Track employee counts to ensure chaplain contracts remain aligned with workforce size. Support chaplains with materials and communication needs.

Budget and Reporting



Prepare and manage the annual WL Cares budget. Conduct quarterly financial syncs and submit reports to the Executive Team. Provide WL Cares updates, metrics, and success stories for Executive Team presentations.

Communication and Promotion



Provide written and photographic WL Cares content for the monthly company newsletter. Promote WL Cares events and initiatives in coordination with Marketing. Maintain WL Cares content on the company website, SharePoint, and internal communications. Maintain training materials, PowerPoints, apparel inventory, and ministry resource storage.

Travel and Representation



Travel to Wilson Lumber locations, community events, and global partner sites as needed. Represent Wilson Lumber Cares at C12 workshops, forums, roundtables, and national conferences. Build relationships with like-minded organizations to support ministry growth.

Position Qualifications



Demonstrated ministry experience in a church, nonprofit, chaplaincy, or missions setting. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Experience writing correspondence, preparing presentations, planning, and coordinating meetings. Ability to build and sustain a strong professional network and foster a collaborative team environment. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage competing priorities. Strong reliability in completing tasks and administrative processes on time and in full. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups. Advanced skills in MS Office Suite.

Education and Experience



Bachelor's degree preferred. Five to seven years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or nonprofit organization preferred. Knowledge of the construction or building materials industry is a plus.

Physical Requirements



Ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently. Able to adapt to a variety of environments, including production settings.
