Position Description

Lindsay Corporation has openings for a Welding Apprenticeship. Position will be located at the heart of Lindsay\'s operation - the Lindsay Plant in Lindsay, NE.

  • Starting wage is $19-$23 an hour based on experience and certification.
  • Tuition Reimbursement following, probationary period.
  • Employees work 20 hours, while attending school.
  • If the apprentice leaves before 2 years of employment, they will be expected to pay Lindsey Welding back.
Position Details

Program Length:
  • Diploma Hours- 740
  • AAS Hours- 655
  • Probationary period 500 hours for both Diploma and AAS
Certificate:
  • Advanced Welding Certificate
  • Manual Welding Certificate
  • Production Welding Certificate
Program Outcomes:
  • Work safely and independently with others
  • Demonstrate welding skills and theory at entry- and advanced levels according to nationally recognized welding standards and codes.
  • Think critically, problem solve, and use creativity. Read and interpret welding drawings, and sketches.
Job Functions:
  • Observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events
  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems
On the Job Learning:
  • Maintain safety
  • Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications
  • Operate welding equipment
  • Notify others of equipment repair or maintenance needs
  • Watch operating equipment to detect malfunctions
