Job Description
Perfect for students, retirees, or for anyone looking for "a little something extra". Our Welcome Desk attendants, also known as Stewards, are the first point of contact at the Welcome Desk for evening & weekend meetings and events at the church. Current shift needs are weekend mornings, especially Sunday mornings 7am-1pm. Additional hours may be available depending on personal availability and church event schedule. Priority given to those who are available during the summer.
Stewards work onsite to
greet
members and guests,direct
them to meeting rooms and event spaces,set up and break down
meeting venues within the church as scheduled by the events coordinator, and ensure thesecurity
of the building at the end of their shift.Expectations:
Open / unlock building and individual rooms based upon scheduled activities and events Monitor security cameras. Maintain appearance of outside stairwells and parking lot Offer basic audio visual support for presentations and zoom meetings (training available) Set furniture before and reset after meetings and events Greet public, answer questions, direct guests to appropriate locations Become Safe Gatherings certified upon offer of employment. (Safe Gatherings is an online training module offering practical training for safety protocols within the church and includes a background check)
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older Reliability and accountability are crucial; must be friendly, sociable, and comfortable in a church environment. Able to work independently Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. This position requires bending, lifting, stairs. Perform assigned tasks with little or no supervision. Must undergo Safe Gatherings Training (3-hour online class) and background check Must provide list of references
Preferred Qualifications:
Availability during holidays when the university/colleges are closed (Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, summers)
