Job Goal:

Waltham High School has an immediate opening for a fitness and multipurpose center supervisor, starting December 1, 2025 through March 15, 2026

Responsibilities:

Candidates should have experience in instructing strength and conditioning drills and skills, have strong communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team to ensure the success of all users of the space. Individuals in charge of such activities must utilize sound educational principles and understand the safety and security of managing the space. Duties include but are not limited to: Open, monitor and oversee the fitness center and multipurpose space from 2:15-3:15 M-F. Create a welcoming, supportive, and safe environment for all users. Provide guidance and instruction on the safe and effective use of the fitness equipment and machines. Share knowledge and correction of technique and form. Collaborate with student athletes and coaches to support off-season training and oversee fitness development as requested. Ensure a clean, safe and organized environment. Ensure all users are following the established safety and facility guidelines. Promote respectful and responsible use of Fitness Center and Multipurpose Room equipment by all users Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the fitness center and multipurpose room spaces. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Background and experience comparable to that of a personal trainer, including knowledge of exercise science, equipment use, and injury prevention. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, support, and work effectively with all stakeholders. Commitment to maintaining a safe, professional, and welcoming environment. Personal training certification preferred

Reports to the Director of Athletics.
