Either way, we are excited to announce we are now accepting applications for Licensed Practical Nurse 2, Full-Time, Permanent, Day shift or Evening shifts, here at the beautiful Washington Veterans Home in scenic Port Orchard, Washington! We have a limited number of these awesome positions, so apply as soon as possible! Please note: Shifts available are Days (6:30 am to 3:00 pm), OR, Swing Shift (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm), with rotating days off.

Position(s) at this location will also receive 5% Premium Pay for facilities open twenty four hours per day. Employees must physically work at the facility 3 days per workweek to qualify. The 5% Premium Pay is in effect until June 29th, 2025.
*This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.

These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to honorably discharged veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star Families.

We would love a few highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses 2 to provide resident-centered care and ensure that our Veterans at the Washington Veterans Home in Port Orchard are provided a safe and healthy space, are treated with dignity and respect, and have care suited to their personal needs. In this role you will assist and monitor assigned residents with activities of daily living based on current nursing standards of practice and with a heart for our mission.

Duties

Some of what you will be doing:
This LPN 2 position, under direction and the supervision of a registered nurse, you will assist in the delivery of nursing and nursing related care to residents of the Washington Veterans Home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, carries out, evaluates, and revises treatment plans for individual residents based on personal observations and recommendations of physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and/or other nurses.
  • Passing medications, administering, monitoring and recording treatments, assessing resident condition.
  • Processing of physician orders. Will assist with routine rehabilitative and maintenance care.
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary and harmonious environment.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in the English language for medical charts and to perform data entry.
  • Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs using proper techniques; capable of reaching for activities such as repositioning or access to supplies; capable of pushing or pulling with sufficient strength.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Long term care experience.
  • One year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
