In cooperation with the GEA technical support group and the independent GEA dealership organization the Warranty Claims Manager for GEA Farm Technologies is responsible for the day-to-day milking system equipment warranty and claims management. This position is accountable for maintaining the highest standards set by the company to maintain complete customer satisfaction and profitability for GEA and our independent dealerships. Responsibilities also include overseeing the processing of claims, recovering warranty costs from GEA subsidiaries and vendors and well as driving down GEA warranty costs.


Your responsibilities and tasks:


Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Ability to coordinate and manage the entire equipment warranty claims process.
  • Serve the needs of the dealers in facilitating the timely and cost-effective reimbursement of warranty claims.
  • Communicate with other GEA manufacturing facilities as well as outside suppliers as required to lower warranty claims cost.
  • Coordinate warranty repairs for items returned under warranty as needed in a timely manner including facilitating the 3d cameras for refurbishment.
  • Facilitate a reporting program to record any discovered defect trends and provide follow data to support to completion of corrective action for the specific defect trend.
  • Participate in any required meetings related to all aspects of the warranty and claims process.
  • Provide warranty cost related data for into the SAP Quality Management module as necessary.
  • Process all retuned product according to standard procedures for proper customer credit from receipt to final disposition.
  • Facilitate supplier reimbursement to lower GEA Warranty costs.
  • Assist in the management of the warranty processing for 3D camera inspection and testing as required to support the Camera refurbishment program.
General Function:
  • Perform management responsibilities for all areas of the GEA Equipment Warranty including dealer credits and vendor reimbursement.
  • Assist in coordination and testing of returned 3D cameras for warranty and refurbishment as required.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with the Senior Manager, QHSE as well as GEA staff and quality inspectors at Galesville and Boenen Germany facilities.
  • Continually fine tune the claims process to improve claims processing time.
  • Coordinate and fulfill the day-to-day activities of inspection of returned equipment and parts including supervision and coordination of the process.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Specific Function:
  • Facilitate continuous improvement of the warranty process.
  • Respond to all communications, such as email and voice mail regarding quality inspection functions.
  • Work with other GEA Farm Technologies personnel on quality improvement projects necessary to meet warranty objectives.
  • Represent GEA Farm Technologies in a positive and enthusiastic manner, conducting business in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Communicate to GEA dealerships staff and customers professionally as required.
  • Manage the equipment warranty program to control warranty costs.
  • Facilitate reimbursement for claims from vendors and GEA subsidiaries to continuously receive higher reimbursement levels.
  • Provide warranty claims reports as required.
  • Drive corrective actions with GEA vendors and GEA product management for product improvements to lower warranty claims and improve product reliability.



Your profile and qualifications:


Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent1-3 years technical experience in quality and/or general electrical/mechanical technical experience minimum
  • Ability to ready and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Possesses Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical knowledge and skills.
  • Warranty and/or technical support experience is desirable.
Skills Required:
  • Ability to complete warranty related functions within SAP.
  • Ability to evaluate component warranty claims for validity based on condition of parts received.
  • Effectively utilize Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint as needed to perform job functions.
  • Possess business, personnel communication, and training skills.
  • Able to utilize problem solving, leadership and role modeling abilities.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sit for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 25-35 lbs. occasionally.
  • Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard.
  • May occasionally be exposed to manufacturing areas that may require personal protective equipment.
