Job Description


Job Purpose:

As the head of the sales department, the VP of Sales is responsible for everything that happens within the department. They are ultimately responsible for the company\'s sales performance because they make decisions, set goals, and lead the sales staff. The VP of Sales tests different sales plans and adjusts the sales strategy as needed to increase profits. They typically work closely with the sales team, but they also work with other department heads, key clients and other stakeholders.

The Vice President of Sales is also responsible for customer relations, communications, marketing, traffic/shipping, galvanizing, powder coating, and a working knowledge of these processes. The VP of Sales is responsible for the continued success of company growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Ensure that safety is the number one priority. Watch and abide by all safety protocols.

\xc2\xb7 Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission

\xc2\xb7 Maintain open, productive communication with Sales Department staff

\xc2\xb7 Manage, train, mentor, and motivate all sales team members and processes

\xc2\xb7 Set sales goals and quotas

\xc2\xb7 Produce sales forecasts and reports

\xc2\xb7 Research the market and competitors

\xc2\xb7 Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions or improvements

\xc2\xb7 Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the customers

\xc2\xb7 Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives

\xc2\xb7 Respond in a timely manner to all customers and contacts, both internal and external, via telephone, email, text, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams as appropriate.

\xc2\xb7 Establish and maintain continuous improvement (2 Second Lean), problem-solving (KATA technique), and Root Cause analysis

\xc2\xb7 Provide monthly KPIs to the Executive Committee and provide HR with weekly employee information (Examples: vacation days, hours remote work, bereavement days, free days, etc.)

\xc2\xb7 Maintain ISO 9001:2015 departmental standards

\xc2\xb7 Maintain a working knowledge of company breakaway systems and competitors\' breakaway systems

\xc2\xb7 Build and retain productive, successful, and ongoing relationships with customers

Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s Degree required

\xc2\xb7 Strong leadership and sales skills

\xc2\xb7 5 years\' experience in Sales Management preferred

\xc2\xb7 Analytical skills to evaluate data and use it to make decisions

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of market trends and adaptability to follow those trends

\xc2\xb7 Motivational and influential personality

\xc2\xb7 Problem-solving and customer service skills

\xc2\xb7 Strong organizational skills and strategic planning

\xc2\xb7 MASH crash testing requirements

\xc2\xb7 Past and current NCHRP 350 crash testing requirements

\xc2\xb7 Experience with diverse business functions such as Marketing, PR, Finance, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles

\xc2\xb7 Ability to develop profitable strategies and implement the vision of the company

\xc2\xb7 Hot rolled bar mill experience in studded T-post and flanged channel business preferred

\xc2\xb7 History of attendance and assembling show booth for ATSSA a plus

\xc2\xb7 Good knowledge of ground-mounted sign support market, fencing market, and vineyard/shade house markets preferred

\xc2\xb7 Good knowledge of the scrap business and ability to follow price fluctuations of hot rolled bars

\xc2\xb7 Excellent computer skills, MS Office and Excel.

\xc2\xb7 Excellent math skills

\xc2\xb7 Detail-oriented

\xc2\xb7 Various repetitive motions - keyboarding

Essential Job Functions:

\xc2\xb7 Increase tons sold per forecast/goal

\xc2\xb7 Manage outside sales staff to include travel, agendas, and data collection.

\xc2\xb7 Manage territory and incentive structure

\xc2\xb7 Manage industry and competitive information relating to price and sales, maximize sales to existing customers and new product development

\xc2\xb7 Manage various work instructions and department procedures

The total comp on this position is $125k to $175k.
