The Future Forward group within Intuitive Surgical is searching for a Vision System Analyst to help design the vision system for a novel robotic surgical platform. As an early member of the team, this role is an exciting opportunity to help define the eventual product from early prototypes through clinical trials and into product launch.

As part of the New Product Development team, the engineer will work with team members to:

• Evaluate alternate cameras with respect to vision requirements and select best option
• Develop image sensor calibration algorithms and software
• Tune the vision pipeline to meet vision requirements
• Develop strategies for depth sensing and simultaneous location and mapping (SLAM)

Qualifications

Skills, Job Requirements:

• Minimum BS in science or engineering discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years experience developing and debugging image signal processing hardware and software
• Minimum 3-5 years experience developing and tuning camera image processing pipelines
• Experience with depth sensing and simultaneous location and mapping (SLAM)
• Matlab proficiency
• C++ programming proficiency
• Good documentation skills

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
