To view benefits available to all State of Texas employees visit: Benefits at a Glance | ERS (texas.gov) Position Description Performs highly advanced computer systems analysis work in support of TxDOT District/Division information technology systems. Oversees work involving analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. Oversees technical support and advice involving the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of projects/programs and/or systems. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Essential Duties:
  • Overall system support of ProjectWise EDMS platform including development and maintenance of configurations, access controls, metadata structures, workflows, workspaces, environments, and system options.
  • Develop solutions to satisfy operational needs of the TxDOT teams using ProjectWise
  • Troubleshoot system functionality errors that occur in the production environment, including root cause analysis, communicate with the user base regarding incident status, and recommend solutions to fix the issues
  • In coordination with ServiceDesk, provide high level (Tier 3) end user support of ProjectWise.
  • As part of a team, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight for the enterprise-wide ProjectWise platform, interact with technical support at Bentley.
  • ProjectWise Server administration including system upgrades, resource monitoring, server configuration, and system architecture planning.
  • Coordinates the development, implementation and maintenance of IT/IS architecture, processes, policies, standards, procedures and associated roles and responsibilities.
  • Creates new standard reports; collaborating with end users to gather report requirements and ensure proper testing and validation.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in hardware and software and provides current information to end users. Analyzes new or existing procedures, information systems, or utility programs for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manages one or more projects and systems involving software development and life cycle. May train others.
  • Monitors and collects information to determine the strength, weaknesses and performance issues of existing technology.
  • Designs, builds, tests, implements, and maintains both publish and ad hoc reports in response to customer change requests.
  • Coordinates, plans, and schedules the installation or training for new or revised systems and defines business process requirements.
  • Oversees and/or prepares and defines the goals of the system and devises flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs.
  • Coordinates and/or tests and diagnoses systems to ensure critical requirements are met. Coordinates with users to identify system requirements, develop functional design specifications to meet requirements, and solve complex operational problems.
  • Coordinates and/or researches, analyzes and tests business procedures, information systems, programs or systems software.
  • Coordinates requests or completes user security changes or additions and facilitates security authorizations for new users.
  • Oversees the training of staff prior to the implementation of technical and/or computer systems and offers advice and guidance during the implementation process.
  • Oversees the evaluation of methods, tools, hardware and software used to improve the analysis, development, integration, implementation and maintenance of information systems.
  • Provides technical assistance of software applications.
  • Responds to incoming requests from business areas to design, build, maintain or repair reports and applications.
  • Serves as a lead worker or project leader.
  • Serves as subject matter expert.
Minimum Requirements Education - Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer/Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline Work Experience - *5 YEARS systems analysis, application systems support, or related work experience (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part time equivalent) Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 Years of ProjectWise administration, support, implementing ProjectWise for a large organization, configuring the tool, performing user administration.
  • PowerShell programming experience
Substitution
  • Related experience and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for education on a year per year basis.
  • Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Supervisory Experience
  • No supervisory experience required.
Competencies
  • Ability to configure and administer Bentley ProjectWise and enterprise-level, integrated applications, including installation, maintenance of environments, patching, fixes, upgrades, code management
  • Understanding of the Engineering and Construction industries
  • Solid understanding of mechanics of data management and data structures. Preferably in ProjectWise
  • Technical and leadership skills to drive the delivery and support of ProjectWise or similar project collaboration tools.
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders - business, IT, vendors etc., and deliver results.
