The Power Engineering Division is looking for experienced qualified candidates to assist in providing our high standard of customer service to existing clients and assist in fostering new relationships in this market sector.

The Power Engineering Division market focus consists of the production and distribution of power for private, municipal, and utility facilities and process focused heavy industrial, chemical, biodiesel, renewables, and midstream/downstream oil & gas facilities.

Position Duties:

  • Work with team leads to mentor and develop staff professional growth and capabilities.

  • Ensure the assignment of work and review team member performance to ensure quality and efficient cost-effective utilization of staff. Monitor and maintain development staffing levels, staffing loading, and staffing assignments to meet project requirements while maintaining goals.
  • Strive to increase the technical reputation of the division.
  • Monitor progress on projects and provide input into areas of concern and direction or redirection to enhance achievement of project schedules, productivity goals, budgets, and quality.
  • Work with practice leads, team leads, and project managers to coordinate project schedules.
  • Advance and develop division tools and workflows to increase efficiency of designs, specification development, and project execution.
  • Participates in leadership/management meetings.
  • Work with staff to meet or exceed PEC KPI\'s and growth initiatives.
  • Utilize workload forecasting to match staff counts to meet projections.
  • Hire qualified staff to meet growth, project load, and quality needs. Take initiative to improve underperforming staff to meet the collective goals of the organization, team, and project work.
  • Work with managers, leads, project managers, and team members to develop business strategies, business development, and client management efforts. Identify and develop innovative opportunities for business growth and engineering improvement across PEC engineering disciplines.
  • Actively communicate with internal and external clients to share Project/Client intelligence across multiple teams.
  • Work with internal team members to attract, identify and secure talent to develop and strengthen offered services.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional registration in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of related work experience and leadership in consulting engineering or EPC firm serving the process related industrial market.
  • 5+ years of corporate leadership experience with a focus on team building, training, and mentoring. Must be team oriented, customer-focused with a strong work ethic and safety focus. Pro-active and willing to take initiative. Responsive and sensitive to project, client, and personnel needs.
  • Experience in electrical/power systems, calculations, specifications, equipment, P&ID\'s, instrumentation, materials selection, and development of project deliverables within the discipline.
  • Experience in project execution, project cost estimates detailed design, work planning, control methods and project execution support. Possess a clear understanding of the steps of project development and the level of detail required in each step of project development.
  • Knowledge of front-end-engineering-design (FEED) delivery systems.
  • Understand requirements of electrical engineering studies such as: arc flash, coordination, motor starting, load flow, area classification and other similar studies that may be required to fulfill the requirements of a project.
  • Basic understanding of pertinent API, NETA, NFPA, IEEE and ISA standards and codes.
  • Proficient user of MS Office software.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and organizational skills
  • Occasional travel to branch offices will be required. Some project related travel may be required.
