Position Overview

Terns is currently searching for a Vice President/Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs who will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to build and maintain our corporate reputation with key external and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will lead our integrated internal and external communications and will drive the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive public relations and corporate affairs strategy. You will be responsible for building and supporting relationships with investors, media, scientific, patient, government and provider communities. You will also work closely and collaborate with the Leadership Team to ensure corporate affairs are aligned with corporate goals and strategic operating plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all external and internal communication, patient advocacy and Investor Relations strategies and direct key activities in these areas
  • Lead the development and execution of Corporate Affairs plans in close coordination with Terns\xe2\x80\x99 leadership team
  • Drive development and effective implementation of the Investor Relations strategy.
  • Manage Terns\xe2\x80\x99 PR agency and other consultants, as needed, to deliver against the communications and public affairs objectives
  • Play a key role in developing and implementing the strategic U.S. patient advocacy and engagement plan
  • Translate global goals into relevant internal communications strategies that engage employees, enable managers, empower leaders and simplify processes to support the business
  • Build and support relationships with investors, media, scientific, patient, government and provider communities
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities and relevant news to identify potential risks and opportunities for the Company
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree required; Master\'s or other advanced degree preferred in a related discipline.
  • 15+ years in the biopharmaceutical industry, with direct experience leading public relations, government affairs, patient advocacy, corporate communications and/or investor relations in a biopharmaceutical company
  • Established relationships and credibility with investment, scientific, media, technology and biopharmaceutical communities.
  • Uncompromising ability to exercise sound judgment and work using the highest level of discretion.
  • Highly articulate and influential leader with excellent written communications and presentation skills.
  • Experience in managing contract public, media and investor relations agencies and vendors.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • A go-getter who loves taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • An agile, meticulous leader, who will thrive in a start-up environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $295,000- $345,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
