Kings Schools currently has a an opening for "Vice President and King\'s Schools Head of School."

This is a full time position with benefits
Compensation is between $155,000 to $170,000 per year DOE

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President and King\'s Head of Schools will lead the ministry with an intimate and mature Christian faith, grounded by a consistent spiritual rhythm (daily Bible study, prayer). As Vice President, s/he will be part of the CRISTA family of ministries and model excellent collaboration up, down and across CRISTA to ensure all King\'s employees work seamlessly together as one unified body of Christ. Leads and ministers to the needs of faculty, staff, students, prospective students and their families.

Provide strategic Christian leadership to all programs and support systems of King\'s Schools. Formulate, communicate and effectuate the school\'s vision and provide overall leadership for accomplishing it. Foster effective lines of communication with other resource departments and ministries. Establish, manage and maintain effective administrative organization for the needs of schools. Collaborate in a unified spirit with school staff, CRISTA leadership, Board advisory committee, parents, students, and the community at large. Achieve excellence with managing school personnel, operations, curriculum, academic standards, extracurricular activities, development, accreditation, marketing, admissions, and compliance with Washington State requirements. Carry out responsibilities within approved CRISTA philosophy, policies, procedures, programs, objectives, and budgetary allocations. Administer all duties, programs and services in a manner that glorifies God and integrates Schools\' goals with the overall CRISTA vision and mission of seeing lives transformed with the Gospel of Christ. Serve as a leader with a heart of integrity and compassion. Live a life above reproach with high Biblical standards of personal conduct and lifestyle. DUTIES:

1. Christ-centered Leadership

  • Serve as a Vice President of CRISTA Ministries to help accomplish CRISTA\'s overall vision and mission in alignment with CRISTA\'s values
  • Prayerfully lead and establish strategic plan for spiritual growth, development and enrollment increase for King\'s Schools.
  • Provide Christ-led and effective leadership, direction, organization, and support to school staff, parents, and students.
  • Actively, and with personal conviction, pursue ongoing Spiritual Renewal at King\'s Schools based on historical Biblical standards of faith and conduct.
  • Work collaboratively and build unity with supervisor, resource and ministry leaders, King\'s staff, parents and students.
  • Develop, implement, interpret, and enforce school policies with Christ-like compassion and care. Serve as final School recourse for families with disputes.
2. People Management
  • Instill a leadership culture of Transformative Performance Management for all King\'s staff.
  • Hire high-performing certified and qualified personnel and administrators; assign, transfer, and promote individuals who achieve excellence and serve the best interests of the school and CRISTA.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to develop and implement systematic performance evaluations for school personnel.
  • Provide professional development and growth opportunities to school staff.
  • Partner with Human Resources to evaluate and set annual salary ranges for staff and teachers in order to ensure competitiveness with private schools.
  • Oversee annual preparation of teaching contracts, stipend contracts, forgivable loan requests, and annual reports to OSPI and accrediting bodies (ACSI).
  • Collaborate with Human Resources for any performance issues, corrective actions and plans to not renew teacher contracts.
3. Academic Excellence
  • Lead effort with School leadership to develop a comprehensive Bible Curriculum that is aligned with CRISTA\'s statement of faith and CCC, consistent with mainstream historical Biblical Christian Worldview and taught throughout every grade.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of objectives and long-range plans for curriculum and instructional evaluation.
  • Achieve academic excellence through continuous review, evaluation and revision of curriculum guides and courses of study.
  • Keep current on curricular and educational thoughts, trends, and practices, as well as proposed legislation affecting schools.
  • Assess educational experience by ensuring senior exit interviews are completed each year.
  • Participate in professional organizations, such as ACSI and WFIS.
  • Serve on state and national committees as appropriate when those committees serve the private school movement in general and King\'s Schools in particular.
  • Exercise responsibility for decisions regarding emergency school closures or other schedule changes.
4. Operational and Administrative Management
  • Establish and submit annual operating plan and budget for executive approval. Own the execution and reporting versus plan and ensure budgetary compliance within King\'s Schools.
  • Ensure compliance with all CRISTA and King\'s School policies, laws and regulations.
  • Promote donor development through partnership with Resource Advancement, King\'s Alumni Association, and other opportunities.
  • Work with CRISTA Facilities to determine short and long-range classroom needs and oversee implementation of construction, operation, and maintenance programs.
  • Partner with Marketing and Finance to develop a long-term enrollment growth plan
  • Collaborate with Donor Relations and Marketing to increase fundraising and develop a long-term endowment strategy
  • Participate in general management of CRISTA as a Vice President and Ministry Leader through Ministry Leader meetings, Ministry Council meetings and/or Board of Trustee meetings.
  • Prepare articles and letters for widespread distribution and represent, in collaboration with CRISTA Communications and King\'s Schools to representatives from the media.
  • Attend required meetings, prepare reports, make presentations, etc.
5. Attend, Plan and Lead (as appropriate)Internal/ External Meetings and Events
  • Administrative Team meetings.
  • Parent Advisory Council meetings.
  • Annual Superintendent\'s Christmas devotions.
  • In-services.
  • Faculty Council meetings.
  • One-on-one reporting meetings with administrators and staff.
  • Meetings of school personnel deemed necessary for discussion of matters related to the welfare and improvement of the school.
  • School functions, including but not limited to Back-To-School Barbeque/Convocation, school concerts, athletic events, faculty devotions, chapels, drama productions, art/science fairs, open houses, ASB functions, Transportation Department Drivers\' Breakfast, and MMAP lunches.
  • Chaperone student trips, including but not limited to mission trips and sports tournaments.
6. Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).

  • Director of Learning
  • Preschool Principal
  • Elementary School Principal
  • Junior High School Principal
  • High School Principal
  • School Business Office
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

CHRIST CENTERED
  • Profession that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
  • Lifestyle that is consistent with Biblical principles.
  • Ongoing affirmation, alignment with and support of CRISTA\'s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).
  • Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.
EDUCATION
  • Master\'s degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. May substitute relevant work experience for education on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE
  • Five or more years of administrative leadership in a school system and prior experience as a teacher.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
  • State of Washington Administrator Certificate or equivalent.
SOFTWARE / EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and telecommunication devices.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
  • Organized, mature leader, able to deal tactfully, compassionately, creatively and professionally with a wide spectrum of personalities and leadership styles. Able to counsel and mentor staff. Spiritual calling for this ministry and work. Able to navigate the stairs in multiple-story buildings without elevators.

EXPERIENCE

Three or more years of experience as Head of School.
