What you'll do
The Licensed Veterinary Technician is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:
Anesthesia & Surgery:
Monitoring and maintaining surgical patients, including induction, intubation, monitoring vitals (ECG, blood pressure, SPO2, etc.), and post-operative recovery.
Patient Care:
Providing high-quality nursing care, administering medications (oral, injectable, IV), and accurately recording patient observations and treatments.
Performing dental prophylaxis, including scaling, polishing, and full-mouth radiographs under veterinarian supervision.
Client Communication:
Educating clients on patient care, medications, preventive medicine, and post-operative instructions clearly and compassionately.
Pharmacy:
Accurately calculating and dispensing medications as directed by the veterinarian.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records, treatment sheets, and controlled substance logs.
Hospital Maintenance:
Ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the treatment area, surgery suite, and kennels.
Basic qualifications
License:
Current, valid
Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)
status is
required

Experience:
3 years of experience in a veterinary hospital setting is preferred
Skills:
Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient monitoring, and administering anesthesia. Strong knowledge of animal restraint techniques.
Attributes:
Highly organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to handle physical demands, including lifting and restraining animals up to 50 lbs
Availability:
Must be able to work Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 7:45 am to 5:15 pm, rotating Saturdays 8:45 am to 3:15 pm
Preferred qualifications
Experience in veterinary critical care or emergency situations.
Familiarity with aseptic techniques and animal catheterization procedures.
