Our brand-new, state-of-the-art 6,000 sq ft facility in Glassell Park is equipped to deliver the highest level of veterinary care, and we are expanding our team of dedicated professionals.

We're looking for a Technician Assistants to support our ER/ICU and specialty teams at LAASER. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn in a fast-paced hospital environment, with opportunities for growth and mentorship. Skilled veterinary technicians and RVTs are also encouraged to apply.
Skills include, but are not limited to:
Patient Care & Monitoring
Provide vigilant care and continuous monitoring for critical and hospitalized patients
Perform triage for incoming patients, prioritizing based on medical urgency
Prepare and stabilize patients for emergency treatments, imaging, and procedures
Monitor and document vital parameters (TPR, SpO?, BP, ECG, capnography) and promptly alert veterinarians of changes
Support smooth and safe patient recovery following procedures, sedation, or anesthesia
Critical Care & Emergency Support
Assist veterinarians with urgent table cases (e.g., GDV, hemoabdomen, blocked cats, trauma patients, respiratory distress)
Place IV catheters and assist with fluid resuscitation under supervision
Set up and monitor patients on oxygen therapy (flow-by, nasal cannulas, oxygen cages)
Assist with advanced monitoring (ECG, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, capnography)
Collect and process STAT lab samples, including blood gases and PCV/TS for rapid decision-making
Prepare for and assist during life-saving procedures such as CPR, chest taps, abdominocentesis, and wound management
Assist in blood transfusion setup and monitoring for reactions
Administer medications (SQ/IM/IV/CRI) under supervision and per skill level
Clinical Support
Assist ER and specialty veterinarians during exams, procedures, and treatments
Support radiographic imaging with proper positioning and radiation safety compliance
Prepare surgical patients for emergency procedures including clipping, scrubbing, and positioning
Assist in endoscopic or ultrasound-guided procedures (e.g., foreign body retrieval, fluid sampling)
Client & Team Communication
Assist with preparing treatment plans, estimates, and discharge instructions
Communicate patient status updates clearly to doctors, technicians, and clients
Provide compassionate client support during emergency and end-of-life situations
Hospital Operations
Follow isolation and biosecurity protocols for contagious or high-risk patients
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked ICU/treatment area and crash cart
Ensure complete, accurate documentation of patient care and treatments in medical records
Requirements:
Ability to restrain dogs and cats safely
Comfort with basic animal handling and patient care skills
Willingness to learn technical skills (venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring) under mentorship
Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills
Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Commitment to patient care and ongoing professional development
