Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Kennel Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to animals in our facility, ensuring their safety and well-being while assisting veterinary staff in various tasks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess relevant experience in a veterinary setting.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kennel and hospital area. Assist with animal restraint during examinations and treatments. Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff. Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team. Support veterinary technicians with procedures as needed. Maintain accurate computer records of animal care and treatment. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and aseptic techniques. Learn and participate in Shelter Care Learn and participate in Day Care Learn and participate in Basic Grooming

Skills

Previous kennel experience is preferred. Knowledge of animal husbandry practices. Experience as a veterinary technician or in veterinary critical care is a plus. Familiarity with front desk operations in a veterinary clinic setting. Proficiency in animal restraint techniques and medication administration. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy. Skills in animal handling, including dog and cat handling techniques. Laboratory experience is beneficial for assisting with diagnostic procedures. Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or within a veterinary clinic environment is highly regarded. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
