Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care for animals in our facility, ensuring their health and well-being while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Duties

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Assist with medication administration as directed by veterinary professionals. Handle animals safely and effectively, employing proper restraint techniques when necessary. Support veterinary staff with basic procedures and treatments as needed. Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment. Maintaining a clean environment for the pets while they are in our care.

Skills

Previous kennel experience is desirable, but not required. The ability to keep a clean kennel environment is required. Proficiency in animal restraint techniques and medication administration is preferred but not required. Strong skills in animal handling, including dog handling techniques is desirable but not required. Knowledge in animal behavior is desirable, but not required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
